Accountant / Senior Accountant

About the role

Veolia ES Singapore Industrial Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Accountant or Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in the Central Region. The role maintains the financial integrity of operations through accurate and timely accounting and reporting, supporting the organisation's strategic financial objectives while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, balance sheets and profit and loss statements
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
• Produce monthly reports in the Veolia Group consolidation system
• Review accounts payable and payment instructions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Prepare and review monthly schedules and management closing checklists, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet reviews
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and projections and control cash management, including DSOs and DPOs
• Prepare and manage inter-company charges and billing
• Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting principles and regulations
• Take part in internal and external audits and liaise with internal and external parties
• Analyse financial data and maintain account accuracy
• Manage tax filings, annual XBRL filing and other local filings when required, and liaise with the company secretary on statutory records
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and assist with new processes and systems

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification
• At least 3 years of relevant working and supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Independent, meticulous and hardworking

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Preferred: knowledge of Odoo and Google tools
