Accountant – Vessel Accounting

About the role

Fleet Ship Management is seeking an Accountant to support daily vessel accounting operations across its global fleet. You will be responsible for managing accounts receivable/payable, fund transfers, and preparing full‑set vessel accounts while ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Handle vessel accounting and portage bill accounting.
• Raise fund requests to vessel owners and monitor receipts.
• Prepare full‑set vessel reports with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with internal functions to ensure timely report completion.
• Scrutinise vessel reports and respond to owner queries.
• Reconcile inter‑company vessel balances.
• Provide MIS data related to vessel reports to supervisors and head office.
• Assist in SOX audit preparation and support ad‑hoc finance assignments.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of solid accounting experience, preferably handling vessel reports independently.
• Graduate or higher diploma in Accountancy, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with a proactive initiative.
