AI-Driven Process Intern (Advanced Process Control)

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for a 2H university intern for its AI-Driven Process Intern programme in Advanced Process Control, based in Woodlands, Singapore. The internship focuses on improving engineering productivity by turning AI chatbots into proactive, intelligent Task Agents that answer fab users' questions about R2R controllers. It is a 20-24 week credit-bearing internship starting from June 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and deploy advanced AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio that automate complex engineering tasks such as process parameter changes and data retrieval.
• Integrate Copilot agents with core manufacturing systems, databases and workflow tools via APIs and Microsoft Power Automate to enable end-to-end automation.
• Work directly with process control engineers to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements and run user acceptance testing for new chatbot features.
• Document and present the solutions, showing the measurable impact of AI-driven automation on engineering efficiency and process reliability.
• Carry out all work safely and in line with Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements.

Required profile

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field through an accredited programme during the internship.
• Students must state their internship period clearly in their CV, resume or cover letter.

Required skills

• Preferred: experience with API integration (REST, JSON) and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms, especially Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Copilot Studio), is a significant advantage.
