CTO Engineer - Configure-to-Order Storage Systems

About the role

Hitachi Vantara is looking for a CTO (Configure-to-Order) Engineer in its Supply Chain function, based in Singapore. The engineer assembles, configures, tests and validates Hitachi Vantara storage systems and servers to customer requirements, and takes part in troubleshooting, inventory management, RMA coordination and infrastructure integration across storage and networking environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and configure storage systems and servers, and perform system-level testing and validation
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across supported platforms
• Administer and support SAN and NAS environments
• Configure, maintain and support third-party network switches such as Cisco and Extreme Networks
• Support license key generation, activation, validation and deployment
• Handle RMA processes and maintain accurate lab inventory records
• Support upgrades, firmware updates and hardware replacements
• Work with Engineering, Logistics, Quality and Customer Support teams and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage, server configuration or data center operations
• Experience with Hitachi Vantara storage systems or equivalent enterprise platforms
• Familiarity with RMA handling, inventory management and asset tracking
• Ability to follow procedures, build documentation and work independently and collaboratively

Required skills

• Strong understanding of SAN and NAS technologies
• Network switch configuration, preferably Cisco and Extreme Networks
• Troubleshooting hardware, firmware and system-level issues
• Preferred: basic Linux, Windows Server or virtualization knowledge, and exposure to scripting, automation or infrastructure management tools
