AI Engineer

About the role

AI Singapore (AISG) is seeking a motivated AI Engineer to drive its AI Apprenticeship Programme (AIAP) and related initiatives. Based at Nanyang Technological University, you will work with research institutions, startups, and industry partners to develop cutting‑edge AI solutions and mentor the next generation of AI talent.

Key responsibilities

• Execute tasks across AIAP, AIAP (Industry), LADP, and AIIP programmes.
• Train and mentor AI apprentices during deep‑skilling and project phases.
• Lead solution development for internal and external AI projects, including research, implementation, and maintenance.
• Plan and manage AIAP recruitment stages and keep the syllabus up to date.
• Support community‑building activities such as talks, workshops, and seminars.

Required profile

• Open to candidates from any discipline with NITEC, Diploma, or Degree qualifications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end delivery of AI/ML projects.
• Hands‑on experience with applied machine learning, generative AI, and large language models.
• Passion for mentoring and excellent communication skills.
• Curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning in AI.

• Python programming
• Machine Learning fundamentals (NLP, Computer Vision, tabular data)
• Generative AI & Large Language Models (Prompt Engineering, RAG, fine‑tuning)
• Software engineering best practices (clean, modular code)
• MLOps tools: Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
