AI Engineering Intern

About the role

As an AI Engineering Intern you will join Zurich’s regional AI team in APAC, building agentic AI systems that directly serve millions of customers. Your code will be deployed in production from day one, helping to automate complex business workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build multi‑step reasoning AI agents that integrate tool use, memory and autonomous decision‑making.
• Develop AI‑powered applications using large language models, including prompt engineering and retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines.
• Implement solutions with FastAPI, Celery, Docker and CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
• Integrate agents with structured (SQL, NoSQL) and unstructured data sources, ensuring reliable operation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to map and re‑engineer workflows into AI‑driven processes.
• Architect and scale solutions on Azure, monitoring and iterating on deployed systems.

Required profile

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or a related field.
• Proven ability to take ideas from concept to delivery in a fast‑paced environment.
