Analyst / Associate, Retail Partnership and Distribution

About the role

Manulife's Asset Management distribution team is looking for an Analyst / Associate to help grow its retail distribution business across private banks and retail banking partners. You will develop new distribution relationships, deepen existing strategic partnerships and influence product adoption across a wide range of investment solutions, working with local and regional stakeholders to increase assets under management and market share. The position offers significant exposure to investment products, distribution strategy and senior stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Drive gross sales and net sales performance against annual targets.
• Acquire new retail and private bank distribution partners and increase share of wallet within existing ones.
• Manage the end-to-end product onboarding and sales process.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in distribution networks.
• Deliver product presentations and investment updates, and support distributors through training, education and sales enablement.
• Partner with regional and local stakeholders on business initiatives.
• Build, manage and report on sales pipeline activity.
• Monitor market trends and give feedback on investor demand and product opportunities.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in asset management, wealth management, banking, financial services, relationship management, sales or business development is advantageous; fresh graduates with a strong interest in investments and financial markets are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, the regulatory frameworks governing investment distribution.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience covering private banks, retail banks, wealth management firms or other financial distribution channels.
• Knowledge of equities, fixed income, multi-asset and solutions products.
• Experience managing intermediary relationships, launching new funds onto distributor platforms, or working toward sales and fundraising objectives.
• CFA, CAIA, CISI, IBF, CMFAS or equivalent investment qualifications, or progress toward them.
• Product development or product strategy exposure, and a strong understanding of Asian retail fund distribution markets.
