Assistant Director, Business Operations (Finance, Marketing & Strategy)

About the role

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee communications, strategy, outreach and operations for the GIFTS institute. The role works closely with leadership to shape institutional positioning, drive impactful initiatives and engage a wide range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director in shaping and executing medium- and long-term strategies, translating objectives into plans, initiatives and KPIs.
• Lead strategic partnerships with government agencies, corporate partners and industry stakeholders, and represent GIFTS internationally.
• Oversee student, alumni and talent development, including internships, careers, mentorship and alumni networks.
• Ensure financial sustainability through corporate funding, contribution agreements and donor engagement.
• Provide strategic direction on communications, branding and media, manage reputational risk and oversee media, digital and public engagement.
• Conceptualise and run high-impact events such as industry dialogues, conferences and donor engagements.
• Oversee planning, reporting, governance and compliance, including audit readiness.
• Manage external vendors and guide and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with proven academic achievement.
• At least 12-15 years of work experience; prior relevant experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of business development and programme/operations management.
• Good commercial understanding of the local marketplace and ability to build wide networks.
