Assistant Director (Strategy, Policies and Standards)

About the role

You will join the Transformation Team within the Assurance directorate to drive internal audit transformation for the public sector. The role focuses on shaping strategies, strengthening governance, and harmonising audit standards across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement strategies to uplift the IA function into a unified "One Public Sector IA" framework.
• Maintain strategic oversight of all IA transformation initiatives, reviewing performance and identifying gaps or opportunities.
• Cultivate relationships with local and international partners to adopt best practices.
• Review and improve the Governance/Risk Management/Control ecosystem.
• Harmonise audit processes and guidelines, and coordinate standard setting for IA across the organisation.
• Develop governance indicators for monitoring and reporting in collaboration with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Interest or understanding of internal audit and governance (advantageous).
• CA Singapore certification is preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time‑management and ability to multitask in a changing environment.
• Meticulous, collaborative and capable of working independently.
