Assistant Engineer – Mechanical Design & Fabrication

About the role

DSO National Laboratories, Singapore's leading defence R&D organisation, is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support the Engineering Division. You will work on the design and fabrication of mechanical components for electronic modules that underpin national security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design chassis for electronics modules using 3D CAD software.
• Create test jigs and fixtures for electronics testing.
• Generate detailed 2D mechanical drawings.
• Perform hardware fabrication using precision metal‑joining techniques.
• Carry out mechanical assembly and integration of hardware.
• Conduct mechanical testing of completed electronics modules.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design and 2D drawing generation.
• Strong interest in turning conceptual designs into functional hardware.
