Assistant Manager, Financial Crime Compliance (FCC)

About the role

The Assistant Manager, FCC at Manulife supports the Head of Financial Crime Compliance in executing the firm's financial crime compliance framework. The role covers AML/CFT, counter-proliferation financing, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, FATCA/CRS and related matters, and works closely with the Private Wealth and Retail teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide AML/KYC advice to the business and stakeholders
• Identify transformation and automation opportunities for the FCC team and work with stakeholders to improve efficiency
• Act as a point of escalation for financial crime risks and escalate them to the Team Lead and Head of FCC
• Define and ensure compliance monitoring and testing of FCC processes and controls, and review the results
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of suspicious transaction reports
• Support regulatory reviews and audits, capturing improvements in Archer
• Monitor and remediate FCC gaps, and keep track of regulatory developments and emerging typologies
• Lead enhancements to company frameworks, raise awareness in the FCC team, and review name and transaction monitoring alerts escalated from the offshore team
• Support the Team Lead and Head of FCC with management information reporting

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in financial crime compliance within the financial industry (preferably insurance)
• Strong understanding of Singapore regulatory requirements and best practices, including AML/CFT, counter-proliferation financing, anti-bribery and corruption, FATCA/CRA and anti-fraud
• Sound understanding of the retail insurance, high-net-worth, wealth management and private banking segments
• Leadership, stakeholder engagement, project management and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated, able to multitask and collaborate within a larger Singapore Compliance team
