Assistant Manager / Manager (Policy), Data Innovation & Policy Group

About the role

The Data Innovation & Protection Group (DIPG) leads data-driven technologies, ecosystem engagement and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), which enforces the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). The Policy team develops and implements data policies that give economic and social benefit to Singapore, safeguarding individuals' interests while enabling businesses to use data. The role is based in IMDA's Mapletree Business City office.

Key responsibilities

• Update data protection policies and laws to keep them effective.
• Provide practical guidance so people and businesses can meet personal data protection requirements.
• Give expert policy advice to IMDA teams and public agencies.
• Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships locally and internationally.
• Monitor global and technology trends and recommend policy responses.
• Support senior management on international trips and at meetings.
• Eventually lead project teams and mentor junior colleagues.

Required profile

• 3 to 6 years of experience in policy development, regulatory work or legislation, preferably in technology, data and industry development.
• Background in Economics, Political Science, Public Administration or Law.
• Occasional international travel required.
