Assistant Manager, Regional Corporate Communications

About the role

We are seeking an experienced communications professional to join Shopee as an Assistant Manager, Regional Corporate Communications. This individual contributor role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, supporting the company’s reputation across Southeast Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional corporate communications strategies aligned with business objectives and brand positioning.
• Identify emerging reputational risks, create proactive mitigation plans, and support issue and crisis communications.
• Lead planning and delivery of communications initiatives, overseeing press releases, messaging documents, FAQs and other materials.
• Design and implement thought‑leadership programmes, producing op‑eds, bylines and other long‑form content to enhance Shopee’s voice.
• Manage complex media interactions, shape stories, and set the strategic direction for media relations across the region.
• Guide market communications teams, provide strategic oversight, and drive capability‑building programmes to raise regional standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in corporate communications or public relations, either in‑house or agency.
• Familiarity with the Southeast Asia media landscape and regional communications environment is an advantage.
• Existing relationships with regional and local media across Southeast Asia are a plus.
