Assistant Nurse Clinician

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Clinician provides clinical leadership and mentorship within a long‑term care setting, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care for seniors, especially those with dementia. You will support both residents and staff, fostering a safe and dignified environment.

Key responsibilities

• Recognise, escalate and manage clinical deterioration and emergencies promptly.
• Educate, counsel and support residents and families in decision‑making.
• Promote safety, dignity and a caring environment for residents.
• Review and oversee clinical assessments, care plans and documentation.
• Lead clinical audits, incident reviews and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Champion medication safety, infection prevention and overall resident safety.
• Serve as a clinical expert and role model for multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure continuity, compliance and high standards of care.

Required profile

• Proactive problem‑solver with strong leadership qualities.
• Passionate about mentoring and developing nursing staff.
• Deep commitment to caring for seniors and persons with dementia.
• Calm under pressure and able to adapt to rapidly evolving situations.
• Collaborative mindset valuing multidisciplinary teamwork.
• 10 years LTC experience (preferred) or 5‑8 years acute care with geriatrics exposure.
• Demonstrated servant‑leadership, compassion and person‑centred care focus.
