Assistant Safety Manager

About the role

Bureau Veritas is looking for an Assistant Safety Manager to support daily health, safety and environmental inspections on construction sites. The role involves close collaboration with main contractors to ensure compliance with safety legislation and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily HSE inspections, prepare reports and follow up with the main contractor for closure.
• Verify that contractors have implemented safety measures in line with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, CAAS and CAG requirements.
• Ensure works are executed with approved permits and maintain site cleanliness and safety.
• Contact the Superintending Officer immediately for any unsafe situations requiring rectification or work stoppage.
• Review contractor daily work declarations, carry out targeted inspections and respond to site incidents.
• Provide standing supervision for critical construction works when required.
• Submit daily inspection reports to the CAG Project Team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years relevant construction experience, including at least 3 years with a developer or main contractor.
• At least 2 years experience in tunnelling or deep excavation works.
• Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM.
• Certificate in Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent.
• Certificate in DfS appreciation course.
• Willingness to work shifts.
