Assistant Vice President – Procurement (Southeast Asia & Australasia)

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Procurement, SEAA will lead regional procurement strategy for the Shangri‑La Group across Southeast Asia and Australasia. Reporting to the Regional VP, you will align sourcing activities with the Group’s strategic objectives and drive value for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and standardise the regional procurement policy manual in partnership with the Regional VP and Group Procurement.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, manage exceptions to the three‑quotation rule and implement preventative action plans.
• Act as a key business partner to regional and property leadership, challenging non‑standard specifications and contributing to operations meetings.
• Champion a category‑based sourcing approach, identifying high‑value consolidation opportunities and building a pipeline of cost‑saving initiatives.
• Mentor and develop Regional and Area Directors, establishing long‑term risk‑mitigation strategies for the supply chain.
• Promote supplier innovation through strategic supplier relationship management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field; audit/assurance experience is essential.
• Minimum 12 years of procurement or finance experience with proven regional leadership.
• Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Oracle, SAP or Ariba.
• Exposure to data‑visualisation tools like Tableau is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
