Associate Engineer - Integration & Yield (Contamination Free Manufacturing)

About the role

GlobalFoundries is a full-service semiconductor foundry. As a Contamination Free Manufacturing Associate Engineer, you will maintain and plan the Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC) detection systems so that cleanrooms and process tool mini-environments stay within control and free from contamination. You will also help monitor the fab environment and prevent environmental excursions. The role works in 12-hour day/night shifts and can be done independently or as part of a team.

Key responsibilities

• Act as shift lead for daily operations related to cleanroom environment issues.
• Work with modules to troubleshoot the source of contamination behind AMC and mechanical alarms.
• Analyse charts to identify the root cause of contamination upticks or baseline drift.
• Lead technicians and operators through non-routine activities.
• Prepare incident reports with root cause findings for AMC and mechanical alarms.
• Escalate to modules for environmental CAS activation according to alarm escalation guidelines.
• Ensure monitoring system hardware and software run normally and take proactive action to resolve issues.
• Plan and follow up annual calibration and preventive maintenance of AMC systems and mini-E measurement tools with vendors, and carry out hardware parts changes and replacements.
• Support Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs.

Required profile

• Able to work 12-hour day/night shifts.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Regular interaction with facilities, chemical lab personnel, module equipment and contractors, including troubleshooting environmental alarms.
