Associate Lecturer (Infocomm Technology)

About the role

The School of Infocomm at Republic Polytechnic is seeking passionate, dynamic industry practitioners and educators to join as Associate Lecturers. You will teach full-time diploma programmes and/or Continuing Education and Training (CET) adult learning courses in one or more technology domains: Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics, Cloud-Native Infrastructure & DevOps, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Software & Full-Stack Development, Financial Technology (FinTech), and foundational ICT modules.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classes, lab practicals and workshops in line with polytechnic learning methodologies to achieve the designated learning outcomes.
• Administer and grade assessments, lab assignments, quizzes and projects, giving constructive feedback.
• Prepare and adapt classroom activities, code demonstrations and learning resources to reflect real-world industry practice.
• Bring current industry practices, emerging tools and ethical perspectives such as data privacy, security governance and AI ethics into classroom discussion.

Required profile

• A relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science/AI, Software Engineering, Financial Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional industry experience in your area of technical expertise.
• A strong commitment to mentoring and engaging youth and adult learners, supported by clear communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Cybersecurity and digital forensics: penetration testing, SOC operations, SIEM, cloud security, incident response, GRC and data protection; certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH or OSCP are an advantage.
• Cloud-native infrastructure and DevOps: scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, public/private cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, OpenStack), Linux/Windows server administration; certifications such as AWS, Azure, RHCSA, CCNA or CKA are an advantage.
• AI and machine learning: ML, deep learning, generative AI, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, data engineering and cloud AI deployment; cloud AI certifications are an advantage.
• Full-stack development: modern languages and frameworks (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java/Spring, Node.js, C++), REST APIs, mobile apps (Flutter, React Native), Git and CI/CD.
• FinTech: digital payments, payment gateways, core banking, blockchain, smart contracts, AML/KYC and financial risk compliance.
