Associate (NQ to 2 PQE) - Dispute Resolution & Commercial Litigation

About the role

A growing local law firm in Singapore is looking for an Associate (NQ to 2 PQE) to join its contentious and commercial litigation practice. The role offers exposure to a variety of dispute resolution matters within a collaborative team. The company delivers high-quality legal services in dispute resolution and commercial law to regional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Draft foundational pleadings, court applications, affidavits and client correspondence
• Conduct legal research, prepare opinions and summaries, and keep up with emerging legal trends
• Represent clients in court proceedings, act as second chair in trials, mediations and arbitrations
• Serve as primary contact for clients and coordinate communication with court officials, experts and opposing counsel
• Represent clients in interlocutory applications, case management conferences and minor hearings

Required profile

• NQ to 2 years of post-qualification experience in dispute resolution or commercial litigation
• Right to work in the specified location
• Ability to prioritise under tight deadlines with high attention to detail and commercial judgment

Required skills

• Detailed legal research on case law, statutes, regulations and procedural rules
• Legal drafting, analytical thinking and statutory interpretation
• Preparation of legal opinions, case summaries and risk assessment memos
