Business Connector – Digital Innovation & Smart Urban Solutions

About the role

The Business Connector will work with industry partners to co‑create commercially viable digital and smart‑urban solutions, accelerating growth and fostering strategic collaborations for SIT’s Innovation‑as‑a‑Service platform.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect potential clients through cold calls, networking and digital marketing, and organise outreach events for the Digital Innovation group.
• Lead project planning, execution and delivery, monitor milestones, and support principal investigators in securing grant funding.
• Develop and implement business development strategies to drive revenue and digital‑innovation projects.
• Foster partnerships with businesses, government agencies, IHLs and other stakeholders to build a pipeline of projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience with a proven track record in marketing and business development.
• Strong analytical, project‑management and communication skills, with experience writing proposals and grants.
• Keen interest in innovation projects and ability to propose technical solutions to business problems.

Required skills

• AI and machine‑learning technologies, including large language models (LLM) and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG).
• Digitalisation tools such as chatbots, dashboards, IoT/IIoT platforms and cloud computing.
• Cybersecurity fundamentals and smart‑urban solution technologies.
