Business Development Representative (BDR)

About the role

Canopy is looking for a Business Development Representative in Singapore. The BDR identifies and qualifies new business opportunities in target segments such as family offices, EAMs and private banks, and books and manages qualified meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities within target segments (family offices, EAMs, private banks)
• Map and research priority segments to find potential accounts and key stakeholders
• Reach out to prospects by email, LinkedIn and phone
• Book and manage qualified meetings
• Segment leads according to Canopy's Ideal Customer Profile and engage them with tailored messaging
• Report prospect insights to the team and collaborate with Marketing on outreach strategy and content
• Maintain accurate, timely CRM records of all lead interactions
• Give feedback to internal teams based on prospect and market conversations

Required profile

• 0-3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR or client-facing role; fintech, SaaS or private wealth experience preferred
• Interest in or understanding of financial services, wealth management or technology
• Proactive, organized, resilient and goal-oriented
• Strong written and spoken English
• Able to learn product features and deliver introductory demos

Bonus points

• Familiarity with CRM and sales tools such as HubSpot or LinkedIn
• Prior exposure to private banking or family office networks
• Additional languages (e.g. Mandarin) and startup or fast-paced tech experience
