Capital Markets Consultant – Commodities

About the role

Capco is looking for an experienced Capital Markets Consultant with strong domain knowledge in commodities trading and hands-on experience implementing or enhancing Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) or Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms. The consultant works with commodity trading firms, energy companies, financial institutions and technology teams to deliver end-to-end platform implementation and transformation, covering requirements gathering, business process analysis, functional design, configuration, integration, testing and implementation support across the commodities trade lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from deal capture and confirmation through to scheduling, logistics, invoicing, settlement and accounting, and understand pricing formulas, market indices, incoterms and contract terms.
• Take part in CTRM/ETRM implementation, enhancement or migration: gather requirements, map business processes to platform capabilities, prepare BRDs, functional specifications, user stories and process flows, and support configuration, reference data and workflow design.
• Work with technical teams on interfaces, data mapping, reports, extensions and integrations, and support fit-gap analysis, data migration, reconciliation and validation.
• Support deal capture, contract structures, pricing formulas, risk management (position reporting, MtM valuation, exposure analysis), and settlement and invoicing, including integration with ERP and accounting systems.
• Develop functional test scenarios, run SIT, UAT, regression and end-to-end testing, log defects, and support mock migrations, cutover planning and go-live readiness.
• Provide post-implementation support, maintain implementation documentation and issue logs, and mentor junior consultants.

Required profile

• 6-8 years of experience in commodities trading, CTRM/ETRM consulting, business analysis or commodities technology implementation.
• Hands-on experience in at least one commodities platform implementation, upgrade, rollout or major enhancement.
• Experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design, configuration support and testing, and in preparing BRDs, functional specifications, process maps, user stories and test cases.
• Experience working with business stakeholders, technology teams and software vendors.

Required skills

• Preferred: exposure to CTRM/ETRM platforms such as Openlink Endur, RightAngle, Allegro, ION Commodities or Eka.
• Preferred: familiarity with commodity valuation, market data curves, MtM, position management and P&L processes.
• Preferred: experience with system interfaces, APIs, data migration, SQL queries and reconciliation.
• Preferred: ERP integration (e.g. SAP), Agile delivery, Jira, Confluence and defect management tools.
