Lead Consultant – Commodities (CTRM/ETRM)

About the role

Capco is looking for an experienced Lead Capital Markets Consultant to lead functional consulting and solution delivery for commodities trading and risk management platform implementations. The role suits someone with deep knowledge of physical and financial commodity trading and extensive experience in CTRM or ETRM systems, who can act as a trusted advisor to traders, risk managers, operations, finance and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead functional delivery of CTRM/ETRM implementations, upgrades, migrations and transformations, from requirements and fit-gap analysis through configuration, testing, deployment and stabilisation.
• Define functional scope, workstream plans, solution designs and acceptance criteria, and challenge requirements to balance business needs with platform capability and total cost of ownership.
• Lead workshops with business stakeholders, develop process maps, solution blueprints and roadmaps, and drive standardisation and efficiency improvements.
• Oversee trade capture, contract management, mark-to-market valuation, P&L, risk reporting, physical trading processes and settlements, and ensure data consistency across CTRM/ETRM, market data, ERP and reporting systems.
• Define integration requirements, oversee data mapping, legacy data migration and reconciliation, and coordinate with technical teams on APIs and interfaces.
• Own functional workstreams, manage scope changes and delivery risks, run design reviews and go-live planning, and mentor business analysts and consultants.
• Contribute to proposals, solution presentations and practice growth where applicable.

Required profile

• 10-15 years of experience in commodities trading technology, CTRM/ETRM consulting, commodities business transformation or enterprise platform implementation.
• Proven experience leading functional workstreams in complex CTRM/ETRM projects.
• Strong understanding of physical and/or financial commodities trading and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• Experience coordinating business and technology teams across implementation, integration, testing and deployment.
• Excellent client-facing communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with at least one CTRM/ETRM platform such as Openlink Endur, RightAngle, Allegro, ION Commodities, Eka or an equivalent.
• Requirements management, fit-gap analysis, functional design, platform configuration and implementation delivery.
• Data migration, integration, SIT/UAT, cutover and go-live support.
• Preferred: multi-commodity/multi-entity implementations, vendor assessment, API and ERP integration, SQL, Agile/Waterfall delivery, and consulting firm experience.
