Cargo Officer – Singapore

About the role

The Cargo Officer will ensure a superior and consistent service for existing and potential customers while overseeing day‑to‑day cargo operations at the Singapore location. Working closely with ground handling agents (GHA) and adhering to EK SkyCargo procedures, the role combines operational leadership with customer‑focused problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate cargo operational activities to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Delegate tasks to subordinate staff and manage GHA/third‑party contractors, monitoring their performance against EK standards.
• Resolve operational issues such as delays, cargo mishandling, and transfer problems.
• Compile and review cargo documentation for flight uplift, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Complete post‑flight activities, dispatch messages, forward documentation and maintain the station file.
• Investigate and respond to queries, complaints and claims from internal and external customers.
• Maintain cargo systems, generate periodic reports and analyse performance statistics.
• Motivate, train and evaluate staff, conduct performance appraisals and implement corrective actions.
• Act as Deputy Cargo Manager or Duty Manager when required.

Required profile

• Educated to A‑Level (or equivalent) with at least 5 years cargo operations experience, including 3 years as a Senior Cargo Agent, **or** a degree with at least 2 years cargo experience and 1 year as a Senior Cargo Agent.
• Proven team‑leading experience and completion of supervisory training.
• Strong knowledge of GHA operations and airport cargo procedures.

• Dangerous Goods certification and knowledge of DG regulations.
• Advanced Load Control expertise.
• Weight & Balance procedures.
• Live Animal handling regulations.
