Central Planning Modeling Engineer

About the role

Micron is looking for a Central Planning Modeling Engineer who acts as the central contact for the manufacturing network. The role calculates and presents the capital impact of process changes to senior leaders in Manufacturing and Technology Development, connects parts of the business to drive manufacturing and cost-saving execution, and develops new tools to speed up, optimize and refine planning and reporting. The ability to explain the capital and operational impacts of manufacturing changes clearly is important.

Key responsibilities

• Manage network tool utilization strategies and benchmark performance to optimize deployed capital
• Manage and communicate improvement and implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions in Manufacturing
• Optimize the capacity of installed equipment and lead site and tool-level optimization studies for efficiency
• Work with partners to understand future tool and process roadmaps and assess the network capacity impact of process changes
• Use AI to strengthen capital investment decisions by optimizing financial metrics, improving process flexibility, enhancing capacity sharing and identifying equipment re-purposing opportunities before purchases
• Spot, question and highlight differences to drive resolutions with collaborators

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a business-related or quantitative field (Finance, Economics or similar), or equivalent experience
• Experience turning complex, ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions in a multi-functional environment
• Ability to work independently, stay organized and adapt to evolving processes
• Experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, recommending actions and reporting to technical and non-technical groups
• Teamwork and multi-functional relationship building
• Experience in capacity analysis, business analysis or process analysis is highly beneficial
