Compliance Officer – Regulatory Compliance

About the role

The Regulatory Compliance team at a leading bank in Singapore is seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure the institution meets all applicable regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compliance, you will develop, implement and review compliance monitoring programs (excluding AML transaction monitoring) and provide regulatory guidance across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review compliance monitoring programs to ensure employees understand applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct compliance reviews, including selling process reviews, identify gaps and propose solutions.
• Provide regulatory advice to business lines, middle office and other stakeholders.
• Deliver training, support and guidance on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Plan, manage and execute compliance projects as assigned.
• Build constructive relationships with business lines, middle office and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate compliance efforts with global directives and initiatives.
• Conduct ongoing compliance induction and refresher training programs.
• Review and approve marketing materials, pitchbooks, website content, contracts and other bank-related documents from a compliance perspective.
• Develop monitoring programs in response to new laws, regulations, products and services.
• Respond to law enforcement or regulatory requests and handle required reporting and filings.
• Report actual or potential compliance issues promptly and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3‑5 years of compliance experience in a financial institution, preferably within private banking.
• Strong understanding of compliance control, monitoring and suitability reviews.
• Good knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently and build effective stakeholder relationships.
