Compliance Officer – Singapore/Hong Kong

About the role

PayerMax is seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer to lead regulatory compliance for its Web3 and digital‑asset services across Singapore and Hong Kong. You will ensure the company meets all licensing, AML/CFT, sanctions and reporting obligations while supporting product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end compliance for existing SRO licenses, ensuring adherence to FinCEN/BSA, AML/CTF, KYC/KYB/EDD and mandatory reporting.
• Develop and operate risk‑based AML/CFT and sanctions screening programs, monitor on‑chain transactions using blockchain analytics tools, and file SAR/STR reports.
• Lead data‑driven assessments of additional Web3/digital‑asset licenses (VASP/CASP, MiCA, regional permits) and provide actionable recommendations.
• Conduct pre‑launch compliance risk checks for all Web3 products, flag out‑of‑scope activities, and advise cross‑functional teams on compliance integration.
• Track global Web3 regulatory updates, conduct impact assessments, and act as primary liaison with regulators, auditors and compliance vendors.
• Create and deliver targeted compliance training, and maintain audit‑ready records, policies and license assessment reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management or related field; JD/LLM a plus.
• 5+ years of hands‑on compliance experience in Web3/digital assets, fintech or MSBs, with direct SRO compliance expertise.
• Proven track record in AML/CTF, KYC/KYB, sanctions compliance and regulatory reporting under FinCEN rules.
• Experience conducting Web3 license necessity and feasibility studies for cross‑border operations.
