Construction & Maintenance Manager

About the role

Decathlon Singapore is looking for a Construction & Maintenance Manager to plan, develop and deliver construction and building maintenance activities for its real estate portfolio. The role covers new store openings, revamps, relocations, sale and leaseback, downsizing and extension projects, and maintains the sustainability, comfort, image and safety of the buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead construction and maintenance activities, including short-, medium- and long-term capital expenditure plans for the portfolio.
• Advise on technical solutions for new stores, revamps, relocations and extensions, and negotiate construction and maintenance split lists with landlords.
• Coordinate technical due diligence such as soil, environmental and structural studies.
• Select and guide tenders, negotiate technical specifications and contractualise construction and maintenance services, managing external partners within budget and schedule.
• Manage project delivery, quality, safety and compliance, and oversee handover, punch lists, final inspections and financial closeout.
• Prepare and validate building permits and sustainable building certification applications, and brief stakeholders.
• Perform routine site inspections, maintain a maintenance service list and respond to emergencies.
• Carry out annual property audits, maintenance diagnostics and a multi-year investment plan per location, and advise store operators on property efficiency.
• Support business development teams, stay up to date with technical standards and collaborate with global peers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in retail construction management, interior design/fit-outs or facility management.
• Proven track record in site feasibility assessments, cost estimation, vendor tendering and project handovers.
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of Singapore statutory and safety codes (BCA, SCDF/FSSD, WSH/MOM, PUB, EMA) and landlord fit-out regulations.
• Project and cost management, construction procedures, quality control and local safety standards.
• Facility management and coordination of external maintenance contractors.
• Reading and interpreting 2D and 3D drawings and plans.
• Negotiation, tender management and stakeholder communication.
