Customer Engineer (iTeam)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer in the iTeam, you will act as the primary liaison with Applied Materials' customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior field service engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques under guidance.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Travel up to 75% of the time, including overseas assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in customer support, field service or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Physical ability to meet on‑site safety and environmental requirements.

Required skills

• Digital analytics for equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic diagnostic techniques for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum and thermodynamic systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
