Customer Engineer – iTeam (New College Graduate)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer in the iTeam, you will act as the primary liaison with Applied Materials' customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostics to resolve technical issues while gaining hands‑on experience across multiple engineering domains.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior field service engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics tools for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and high‑quality service.
• Participate in projects and assignments that support organisational goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 0–1 year experience in customer support, field service or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including overseas assignments.
