Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Customer Engineer in Singapore. The role covers standard service and repair of equipment, with support from senior engineers, and involves responding to fab issues and helping plan support plans with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard service activities independently (Tier I) and standard Tier II work with assistance
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance within set timeframes and complete quality repairs
• Respond to fab issues by communicating with other engineers and taking part in escalation conference calls
• Participate in projects aimed at reducing costs and increasing uptime
• Verify the operational quality of system equipment and assist senior engineers as needed
• Use diagnostic techniques, documentation and test equipment, and apply knowledge to identify process, software or hardware problems
• Strive to perform BKM's and use knowledge management systems while following all IP guidelines
• Take responsibility for full customer satisfaction in the assigned area and help plan, communicate and coordinate support plans with customer management
• Comply with all safety procedures

Required profile

• Established skills to carry out day-to-day activities
• Able to solve typical problems in the work area without supervisory approval, choosing from established options
• No supervisory responsibilities; manages own workload
• Regular but moderate supervision and guidance
