Customer Engineer - NCG

About the role

As a Customer Engineer at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostics to troubleshoot and ensure optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
