About the role

The Customer Quality Engineer will act as the primary liaison between Applied Materials' Field Service Organization and its customers in Singapore. You will drive corrective actions, resolve quality issues, and ensure compliance with global quality management standards while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide training on quality tools and methods to Applied Materials employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with field service focal persons and customers to fully understand issues and lead corrective action initiatives.
  • Facilitate monthly/quarterly reviews with the customer quality team and GM of the Field Service Organization to assess KPI performance.
  • Gather and implement solutions such as Supplier Corrective Action Requirements (SCAR) to close performance gaps.
  • Coordinate issue resolution using Trackwise, Advanced Problem Solving (APS), and statistical analysis tools.
  • Work closely with Customer Engineers and cross‑functional teams to identify root causes and establish corrective actions.
  • Prepare internal teams for QMS reviews and support ISO certification audits, including conducting pre‑audits.

Required profile

  • Intermediate knowledge of quality tools and methods with the ability to work under moderate guidance.
  • Strong communication skills to capture the voice of external customers and develop measurable KPIs.
  • Experience coordinating corrective actions and driving issue resolution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to document variations of global QMS to meet country‑specific requirements.
