Customer Support Technician

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Customer Support Technician in Singapore. The role supports the operation of equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on customer service, preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard Tier I procedures, including wafer measurement.
• Perform preventative maintenance and wet cleans independently.
• Assist senior engineers with corrective maintenance as needed.
• Disassemble, clean and rebuild kits as part of kit management quality.
• Learn and apply diagnostic techniques and use documentation and test equipment with the help of senior engineers.
• Able to diagnose and resolve basic technical problems.
• Strive to perform BKM's and use knowledge management systems.
• Follow all IP guidelines and safety procedures.
• Represent Applied Materials to the customer with good customer service skills, a professional demeanor and a neat work area.

Required profile

• Physically demanding position: extensive walking, standing, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs, and using hand and power tools.
• Ability to distinguish colours and to work in a noisy environment.
• Willingness to wear clean-room PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
• No supervisory responsibilities; impacts the quality of own work.
