Customer Support Technician

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Customer Support Technician in Singapore. The technician supports the operation of equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing, performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting, and represents the company to customers. The position is full-time, regular and non-supervisory.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard Tier I procedures, including wafer measurement.
• Perform preventative maintenance and wet cleans independently.
• Assist senior engineers with corrective maintenance as needed.
• Disassemble, clean and rebuild kits as part of kit management quality.
• Learn and apply diagnostic techniques and use documentation and test equipment with the help of senior engineers.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems and strive to perform BKM's.
• Use knowledge management systems and follow all IP guidelines.
• Represent Applied Materials to the customer with good customer service skills and a professional, respectful demeanor.
• Maintain a neat work area, stay positive in difficult customer situations and comply with all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work: extensive walking, standing, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs, and using hand and power tools.
• Able to distinguish colours and work in noisy environments; must wear clean-room PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
• Analytical skills and application of scientific methods; good understanding of how the team works together.
• Able to solve typical problems in the own work area without supervisory approval, using established procedures and scientific methods.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
