Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to support a government cybersecurity team. The role spans security governance, awareness, operations and vulnerability management, requiring strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work independently.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary SaaS security assessments and compile security scorecard data.
• Gather and analyse security metrics from cyber workplan initiatives.
• Review whole‑of‑government phishing exercise results and drive remediation through training and content creation.
• Analyse Data Loss Prevention (DLP) reports to detect potential classified data exposure.
• Track project‑team responses to security queries and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Support the development of processes for communicating vulnerability information and monitoring remediation status.

Required profile

• Background or strong interest in cybersecurity, IT governance or a related field.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills for cross‑team coordination.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and manage follow‑ups.
• Experience with data analysis or content creation is an advantage.
• Familiarity with government IT environments or security frameworks is a plus.
