Cybersecurity Intern

About the role

We are seeking a curious and motivated Cyber Security Engineer Intern to join our cybersecurity and managed IT services team. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to real‑world security operations, AI‑driven threat detection, and digital forensics while supporting customer IT environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring security alerts from SIEM and endpoint protection tools such as Wazuh, Sophos, and Microsoft Defender.
• Support AI‑assisted threat detection, analyse suspicious activities, malware alerts, and security incidents.
• Perform basic digital forensics tasks, including log analysis and endpoint investigation.
• Help monitor endpoint health, antivirus status, and security compliance.
• Support firewall, server, and network security administration, vulnerability scanning, and patch management.
• Contribute to documentation, SOP creation, incident reporting, and IT asset inventory.
• Research emerging cyber threats, ransomware trends, CVEs, and assist with phishing simulations and security awareness activities.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, IT, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, Windows and/or Linux operating systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with clear written communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
