Data Engineer (Senior Consultant Level)

About the role

Vinova, a development company founded in 2010 for mobile, web and enterprise applications, is hiring a Data Engineer (up to Senior Consultant level) for a major Government project. The role combines data engineering expertise with DevOps and cloud infrastructure skills to deliver secure, scalable data solutions, working closely with the IPOS IT Department.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue for data ingestion from multiple sources.
• Manage and optimise AWS Redshift, configure S3 data lakes and implement partitioning, indexing and compression strategies.
• Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments, troubleshoot data issues and optimise database queries with the IPOS IT Department.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using GitLab, configure AWS Lambda functions and enforce version control.
• Set up monitoring and alerting to detect pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and procedures on Confluence, track tasks in Jira and lead monthly system health meetings.

Required profile

• Proven background in data engineering, large-scale pipeline development and data warehouse design and optimisation.
• Strong conviction in the Government's mission; familiarity with SHIP-HATS or IPOS is a significant advantage.
• Hands-on, proactive and adaptable, with excellent communication skills for explaining data architectures to technical teams and stakeholders.

Required skills

• SQL, Python and shell scripting.
• AWS data services: Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, CloudWatch.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
