Data Scientist – AI Solutions for Customer Support

About the role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to design and deliver end‑to‑end AI solutions that enhance SAP’s customer support operations. You will work on machine‑learning, large‑language‑model (LLM) applications, retrieval and recommendation systems, turning prototypes into production‑ready services.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business and technical requirements for AI solutions in the Support Delivery domain.
• Develop AI‑powered services such as case analysis, knowledge retrieval, recommendation, classification and automation.
• Take models from experimentation to production in collaboration with ML engineers and developers.
• Design and implement data pipelines, model pipelines and ML micro‑services.
• Analyze large‑scale structured and unstructured data to improve model performance and generate insights.
• Apply modern AI techniques including LLMs, embeddings, retrieval‑augmented generation, semantic search, knowledge graphs and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, software developers and product stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Scientist or applied AI professional.
• Relevant university degree in Data Science, AI or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, effective communication and the capacity to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficient in Python for data analysis, feature engineering, model development and evaluation.
• Experience with SQL and handling both structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native tools and production‑ready environments.
• Knowledge of big‑data technologies such as Spark or search platforms like Elasticsearch.
