Data Scientist - Banking (Contract)

About the role

A bank is looking for a Data Scientist on a contract basis, recruited through Manpower in Singapore. The role covers end-to-end machine learning and analytics work, from building models to deploying them and monitoring their performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy machine learning models and data science solutions using tools such as Spark, Scikit-learn and TensorFlow, and master analytic languages such as Python and R.
• Work with large datasets, distributed big data platforms and CI/CD tools to deliver advanced analytics such as recommendation engines, propensity models, customer segmentation, graph models, credit underwriting and pricing.
• Collaborate with data science, machine learning, business and product teams to build the deployment framework.
• Own end-to-end processes for feature engineering, model deployment and model performance monitoring.
• Run A/B tests to validate model effectiveness and analyse results to identify target segments.
• Help the big data and data engineering team set up the production environment and build reusable, scalable deployment frameworks.

Required profile

• 3-7 years of experience in data science or analytics (consumer banking, e-commerce, retail, telecoms, technology) with a proven track record of delivering value through DS/ML/AI solutions.
• B.Sc., M.Sc. or PhD (or equivalent) in Statistics, Analytics, Applied Mathematics or Operations Research.
• Full understanding of how DS/ML/AI can solve business problems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex models to a diverse team.

Required skills

• Databases such as Teradata, NoSQL and Hadoop; SQL, Hive and Spark.
• CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket/GitHub and Jenkins; Kubernetes, Kibana and Grafana.
• Programming in Python, Spark, SAS, TensorFlow or other ML-oriented languages.
