Data Scientist - Semiconductor Yield & Process Analytics

About the role

Micron is hiring a Data Scientist to support semiconductor manufacturing operations. The role works with engineering teams to turn data from production lines, sensors and fabrication tools into actionable insights on yield, defects and process capability.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze inline, parametric and probe data with manufacturing engineering teams to find yield detractors and drive continuous improvement.
• Extract, cleanse and analyse datasets from SQL databases, sensor networks and fabrication tool logs.
• Apply data science, statistical modelling and machine learning to solve yield issues and support defect reduction.
• Support process and integration engineers in running and analysing Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Build automated reports and dashboards (e.g. Dash, Plotly, Angular) to share results with engineering stakeholders.
• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI or a related engineering field.
• At least half a year of hands-on data science, analytics or scripting experience.
• Willingness to learn semiconductor manufacturing principles and work with equipment and integration engineers.
• Preferred: semiconductor industry experience, basic knowledge of fabrication processes and device physics (CMOS), and familiarity with memory architecture (DRAM/NAND).

Required skills

• Strong Python and at least half a year of SQL experience.
• Familiarity with statistical methods such as SPC, DOE and FDC/EDA.
• Data visualization with Dash, Plotly or Angular.
• Effective communicator who can bridge data science and semiconductor engineering teams.
