Deputy Director (International)

About the role

The Deputy Director (International) leads a team within the International Division of MPA, driving relations and projects with foreign maritime administrations and stakeholders. The role advances Singapore's maritime interests bilaterally and at multilateral fora.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to advance Singapore's maritime interests bilaterally and at multilateral fora.
• Identify and analyse international maritime issues affecting Singapore, such as geopolitical developments, maritime decarbonisation, digitalisation/AI and marine environmental protection, and recommend strategies and responses.
• Forge and strengthen partnerships with foreign maritime administrations and stakeholders, including organising and hosting meetings, incoming visits and other events.
• Travel to attend bilateral and multilateral meetings as a representative of MPA and Singapore.

Required profile

• Six to 10 years of relevant experience in International Relations or an equivalent function, preferably with at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead teams and handle multiple complex projects concurrently.

Required skills

• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Good command of English.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
