Deputy Director, Strategic Communications & Media

About the role

The Deputy Director, Strategic Communications & Media Division (SCMD) leads the development and execution of communication strategies that amplify the agency’s mission to empower lifelong learning and skills mastery in Singapore. Reporting to the Director, the role works closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to shape public perception and drive behaviour change.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement integrated communication strategies aligned with agency policies and initiatives.
• Engage internal and external audiences to craft compelling narratives and select optimal channels.
• Build and maintain relationships with media partners, manage complex media queries, and lead crisis communication planning.
• Develop thought‑leadership networks and partnerships to position the agency as a leading voice in the jobs and skills ecosystem.
• Champion data‑driven communications through public perception surveys and behavioural insights research.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of communications professionals, translating strategy into actionable plans.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in strategic communications and media relations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage crisis communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in using data and research to inform communication strategies.
