Deputy/Assistant Director, AML Policy (1-Year Contract)

About the role

The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Department strengthens the financial sector's defences against money laundering, terrorism financing and proliferation financing, developing sound regulations, monitoring risk developments, carrying out risk-based supervision with MAS' supervisory departments and coordinating with the public and private sectors. This is a 1-year contract position focused on research, methodology updates and national risk assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Research international best practices for national risk assessments in money laundering (ML), terrorism financing (TF) and proliferation financing (PF), including those relating to legal persons and arrangements.
• Assist in reviewing and enhancing the updated ML, TF and PF national risk assessment methodologies for Singapore.
• Assist in developing the updated ML, TF and PF national risk assessments, coordinating with other stakeholders on collecting and analysing relevant statistics and risk information.
• Assist in developing the updated national AML, counter terrorism financing (CFT) and countering the financing of proliferation (CPF) strategies for Singapore.

Required profile

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a policy, international, supervisory and/or statistics analytics role.
• Excellent analytical capability, able to dissect policy issues and offer workable solutions.
• Strong data and statistics analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and drive projects to quality outcomes on time; strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
