Deputy/Assistant Director, Payments Department (Contract)

About the role

The Payments Supervision Division supervises payment institutions under the Payment Services Act, and is looking for a Deputy/Assistant Director for its Payments Department on a 2-year contract. You will join a dynamic team and help ensure that payment service providers operate in a way that supports Singapore's development as an e-payment society.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-site and off-site supervision of payment institutions across the full spectrum of regulated payment services, including e-money services, money transfer services and digital payment token services.
• Review the legislative requirements and policy intent of the Payment Services Act in relation to new business models.
• Engage key industry players to discuss regulatory and legal issues and assess the need for legislative change.

Required profile

• Strong interest in the payments sector.
• 3-15 years' experience in related areas such as compliance, audit, legal or financial services advisory.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholder needs and responding to change.

Required skills

• Familiarity with legislative review and drafting processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical skills to understand new business models.
• Adaptable, versatile self-starter able to work well in both team and individual settings.
