Director, APAC Communications

About the role

The Director, APAC Communications will lead the development and execution of communications strategies for S&P Global Energy across the Asia‑Pacific region. Reporting to senior leadership, you will enhance the division’s visibility, manage media relationships, and ensure consistent, strategic messaging that supports both divisional and corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement communications plans that position S&P Global Energy as a market leader in data, insights, news and benchmarks.
• Build and maintain relationships with top‑tier media outlets, journalists and industry influencers throughout APAC.
• Draft and distribute external content such as press releases, media advisories, pitch materials and bylined articles.
• Coordinate media interviews, press briefings and events to promote divisional initiatives.
• Monitor regional media coverage and internal metrics, reporting on results against business goals.
• Support crisis communications, providing rapid‑response strategies to protect reputation.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and subject‑matter experts to craft compelling narratives.
• Create internal communications content and manage related events as needed.

Required profile

• Strategic communications leader with strong industry credibility and extensive APAC media networks.
• Proven ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear public narratives.
• Experience developing and executing PR strategies across multiple APAC markets.
• Excellent writing and editing skills for both external and internal audiences.
