Director, APAC Head of Institutional Banking KYC

About the role

BNY is seeking a senior leader to head Institutional Banking KYC across the APAC region. Based in Singapore, the Director will shape the strategic direction, governance and delivery of the KYC framework for the Institutional business, ensuring it supports growth while meeting regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Institutional KYC, aligning with business priorities and risk standards.
• Lead the end‑to‑end KYC operating model, covering client onboarding, periodic reviews, CDD and EDD processes.
• Oversee offshore KYC operations within a global delivery model, ensuring consistent standards and robust controls.
• Maintain strong oversight of the KYC control environment, driving governance, escalation and transparency.
• Lead regulatory examinations, internal audits and issue remediation, delivering timely resolutions.
• Drive transformation initiatives using data, automation and AI to improve quality, efficiency and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in KYC, AML, risk or compliance within institutional banking.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations and Technology.
• Track record of managing large, distributed teams and global delivery models.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and enterprise risk standards in the APAC region.
