Director - Forensic Accounting & Investigations

About the role

This Director position leads complex disputes, compliance-driven reviews and investigations using forensic accounting and technology solutions across the South-East Asia, Greater China, South Asia, Australia and broader Asia Pacific region, coordinating with counterparts worldwide. It also plays a key role in generating opportunities with new and existing clients in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, scope and convert forensic accounting, compliance and investigation opportunities, primarily in South-East Asia
• Act as line manager of the Forensics Singapore team, supporting team development and training
• Manage investigations, anti-fraud and anti-corruption risk management services, and financial, technical accounting and other analysis related to litigation
• Manage existing and new client relationships and deliver reports, proposals and pitches
• Stay aware of market trends, including digital forensics, e-discovery and data analytics tools, and manage project economics
• Provide forensic accounting technical leadership

Required profile

• Proven senior-level experience sourcing and converting business leads with the legal buyer community in key South-East Asia, Greater China and South Asia markets
• Extensive forensic accounting experience and deep knowledge of local and extra-territorial regulatory drivers and enforcement trends
• Degree level education and internationally recognised accounting qualifications such as CFE, CPA or CFA
• Preferred: Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm experience, in-house investigations or compliance experience, native English speaker with Mandarin or other regional languages, and proactive fraud/corruption risk management experience

Required skills

• Proficient IT skills and considerable familiarity with e-discovery and other electronic data analysis tools
• Deep knowledge of investigation techniques, procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms (mediation, arbitration, litigation)
• Demonstrable commercial acumen and specialist investigation or dispute resolution skills
