Director of Finance – Hotel

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead all financial functions for the DoubleTree by Hilton Robertson Quay, ensuring the hotel operates profitably while adhering to statutory and corporate requirements. You will act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing insight that drives exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the hotel’s financial strategy aligned with overall business goals.
• Direct annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Serve as the primary financial advisor to hotel leadership, ownership, and department heads.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory regulations, and internal controls.
• Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
• Authorize and monitor all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, payroll, and expenses.
• Build and lead a high‑performing finance team through performance management and development initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hotel finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel systems: OnQ, Check SCM, SUN, OPERA/OnQ PMS, MICROS, HRLINK.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards.
