Director, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs – ANZ & Base Markets

About the role

The Director, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs will shape the regulatory landscape for Coca‑Cola’s Base & Balance markets across ANZ, Pacific Islands and related regions. Reporting to the Senior Director, Science and Regulatory Affairs, this senior leader will ensure compliance and drive advocacy to enable product innovation and market growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute short‑, mid‑ and long‑term regulatory advocacy strategies to remove barriers and support new ingredients, products, labels and packaging.
• Secure government approvals and align with international standards such as Codex for multiple markets.
• Identify, assess and mitigate regulatory risks, emerging trends and headwinds affecting product claims and brand reputation.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Legal, PACS and bottling partners to ensure timely product registration and launches.
• Represent Coca‑Cola in industry organisations, regulatory forums and with authorities across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Brunei and other Pacific markets.
• Lead complex cross‑functional projects and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Senior leader with extensive experience in scientific and regulatory affairs within the food‑beverage sector.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing advocacy strategies across diverse regulatory environments.
• Strong understanding of local regulations, international standards (e.g., Codex) and product registration processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to work independently while aligning with global frameworks.
